Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that his ongoing false assets declaration trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) is the handiwork of powerful people who were unhappy with his emergence as Senate President.
While speaking at the Social Media Week in Oniru Lagos, Saraki stated that his trial was an act of persecution adding that the charges has nothing to do with corruption.
Saraki said: “We are public servants and you must fill your asset declaration form when you get in office and I did mine 13 years ago. The charges have nothing to do with corruption or money being stolen anywhere and that is why at the end of the day, I will have my day in court. Because it is not about corruption.
