The National Space Research and Development Agency says report of its investigation on the recent tremor in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State will be made public on Thursday.
The information is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Dr Felix Ale, the Head, Media and Corporate Communications of the Agency in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Ale, the comprehensive report will be presented to the public through a media conference on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
He said, “NASRDA has concluded investigations on the remote cause and causes of the recent tremor in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
“Since the reported case of the tremor, NASRDA has deployed a team of experts, particularly from one of her centres of excellence, the Centre for Geodesy and Geodynamics in Toro, Bauchi State.
“This is to critically assess, observe and examine the situation in order to come out with comprehensive analysis of the reoccurring event, which has been a source of concern to government and the entire Nigerians.”
The spokesperson stated that NASRDA promised to continue to bring its expertise and proficiency to bear in times like this for the comfort, security and overall benefits of Nigerians.
Ale added that NASRDA had called for calm in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State and environs as Federal Government was doing its best to address the situation.
He said, “The National Space Agency appeals to the people of Jaba Local Government Area and environs to continue to remain calm and be rest assured.
“The Federal Government is particularly with the people of Jaba Local Government at this point in time and doing its best to address the situation through relevant government agencies.
Ale said the yet to be released comprehensive report and analysis would go a long way in alleviating anxiety and fear on the recent pathetic situation in the local government .
The tremor hit Kwoi and surrounding villages in Jaba Local Government of Kaduna State on September 11, September 12 and September 20, causing panic among residents
throughout the periods.
A preliminary report on the incident was released three weeks ago by NASRDA.
NASRDA promised to make its comprehensive report and detailed analysis by its team of experts on the field, available to both the government and the public.
