President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, has said the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead symbolises the fact that Christians and indeed Nigeria would surmount all challenges besetting her, no matter how great they may be.
Ayokunle, in his Easter message titled, “His Resurrection: Our Hope, Joy and Pride,” said: “Perhaps, the greatest story in the scripture was not only the story that Jesus died for our sins, but that he rose again from the dead in power and majesty, to put death to shame like no other prophet before or after him. It is a great story, a distinct story, our hope, joy and pride. It is a story that each of us needs to hear again and again, not only to make our faith stronger and sustained …This is the story, which our nation needs to hear again and again at a time like this that we can rise above our present national challenges and see better days ahead.”
The cleric added that: “For our nation, the experiences of insecurity, economic pains and various other challenges we had faced are the seemingly hopeless pre-Sabbath painful challenges, and a glorious dawn will soon emerge as the Lord, through his power of resurrection acts in our favour…”
Senior Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on his part said: “The Lord will bless all Nigerians and the resurrection power will come in their lives. Same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead will raise our hopes and restore our dreams … and may this Easter usher in a true genuine change in our leaders and the followers in Jesus mighty name.”
