Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu, has said the nation needs not panic over who to man the post, as the nation prepares for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and World Cup qualifiers.
According to him, the country is blessed with good goalkeepers that can stand in for injured Super Eagles current number goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, as he recuperates.
According to express.co.uk, Ikeme may likely miss the rest of the season due to injury. The report was credited to his manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Paul Lambert. This may also rule him out of Super Eagles duties this year.

Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, Dosu said the nation is so blessed with so many goalkeepers, adding that all that is required is to give them same opportunities that were given to the established goalkeepers.
“At a time when the nation was in short of a reliable goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama was called and he was able to establish himself. This same opportunity was given to Carl Ikeme, who stepped in and distinguished himself after Enyeama quit the national team.
“I believe it is all about giving the other goalkeepers the chance and believing in them. Nobody buy experience anywhere. It is about consistency, giving the keeper enough playing, which after a while, he builds up enough confidence for himself,” he said.
Speaking further, Dosu, who also had similar breakthrough after winning gold medal at Atlanta 1996 Olympics from being a junior international and later claimed the Eagles number one position said:
“There is no need for us to worry over anything. There are a lot of good goalkeepers even in our league, who can rise up to the occasion. Give them the exposure; be consistent with them and with the belief in them they will rise up and cement their place.”
