Urhobo youths under the aegis of Urhobo Ethnic Nationality of the Host Communities of Nigeria on Monday called on militants of the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement to cease hostilities on oil facilities in the region.
The youths, who also condemned the deliberate bombing of oil installations in the region particularly in Urhobo area of the state, urged them to embrace the proposed dialogue as violence would not solve the problem in the region.
A leader of the youths, Agadia Samuel Oghenegare, who spoke with newsmen in Warri on Monday, called on the aggrieved youths to key into the Chief Edwin Clark-led Pan Niger Delta Stakeholders’ Dialogue Team so that the region would not be plagued into further degradation and poverty.
According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari appears very determined to bring positive change to Niger Delta, stressing that it was time for everyone to embrace peace for true development.
He said that the renewed hostilities in the region were unnecessary, adding that since other militants including the Niger Delta Avengers, MEND and the Adaka Boro Avengers had agreed to negotiate, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement should follow suit.
Oghenegare, while calling for the involvement of other prominent Urhobo leaders in the dialogue, however, suggested that prominent members of other ethnic nationalities, like Prof. G.G. Darah, among others, should be invited to be part of the group.

He said, “There is the need for the federal authorities to be proactive in finding solutions to our national problems.
