Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has promised to pay all the outstanding gratuities to retirees in the state before the end of the year.
The governor made the promise in Daura on Tuesday in a speech during the Maulud-el-Nabiy celebration when he promised that the payment would begin immediately and end by December 31.
Explaining the source of the money with which to offset the outstanding gratuities, he said it was a refund made to the 36 state governments by the Federal Government.

He also promised to deploy the money in key sectors of the economy, including education, health, agriculture and security as well as women and youth empowerment.
He said that the state government would step up activities to ensure that every part of the state was completely rid of banditry even as he warned that his administration would not condone any act capable of breaching the peace in the state.
Masari commended President Muhammadu Buhari for releasing the refund and the numerous bailouts he had provided the states.
